Google Workspace for Education

  • Students with laptopAt the School District of Beloit, we use Google Workspace for Education. The full Google Workspace for Education service is accessible online at all times from any device with an Internet connection. Students can collaborate, interact with teachers within the school system, and create, edit, store, and share files using a suite of tools. With the help of these apps and related devices, educators may better incorporate 21st-century technology into their lessons and allow students access to a secure learning environment from any location.

All School District of Beloit (SDB) students are issued a Google Workspace account when they are registered to attend any SDB school. The sdb.k12.wi.us domain is configured as a self-contained environment maintained by Google and managed by the School District of Beloit's Information Technology Department. A solid partnership with families is crucial to ensuring the success of any educational experience. Google has created the "Google Workspace for Education Notice to Parents and Guardians" to answer common questions about what Google can and can't do with your child's personal information.

Parents and/or guardians have the choice to "opt out" their student from accessing Google "Additional Services." If a parent and/or guardian decides that their student will opt out of using Google "Additional Services", this will apply to all apps or programs considered "Additional Services" (including YouTube). Scroll down (this webpage) for a list of Google "Additional Services" used by SDB. Complete this online form to opt your student out of using all Google "Additional Services".
