    Playgroups Wednesday and Friday 9am- 10:30am

    Fee:  All programs are free of charge. Free child care is offered for all adult programming.

    Intake:  If you wish to participate in any of the programs you must register at least 24 hours in advance.

    Services Provided:  Enhances the quality of family life by offering resources, referrals, support, parenting classes, and lending library for all Rock County families. Offers: The F.A.S.T. (Families and Schools Together) Program *Lending Library of books, videos and toys. *Computer with Internet access for parents. *Resource and referral to community agencies. *In-home visits by Parent educators. *Multi-session parent education classes. *Volunteer Opportunities. "Parents Forever" 8 week co-parenting program, in conjunction with Lutheran Social Services.

    Services Provided:  Community outreach, group education and support, individual assistance, and resource and referrals are provided to all parents and their children, free of charge. The Family Resource Center is a safe place for families and their children to gather to receive support and assistance that enhances their own strengths and abilities. Books, toys, and video check out library. STAR Parenting class, free eight week series of class, uses the STAR discipline method, designed for children up to 8 years old. Childcare and lunch provided. Offers three weekly play groups age one to five. Also offers a Baby and me group for ages birth to nine months. WARM LINE - for non emergency parenting questions during office hours.

     

    3.  Nutrition-Parenting Ed Center

    Eligibility Requirements:  Parents must be resident of Rock County, must have children age 5 or younger or be pregnant, and must have limited incomes.

    Services Provided:  Educators make visits to pregnant women and parents of children up to the age of five. 

     

    4.  Early Head Start

    Fee:  Free of charge must be income eligible.  

    Services Provided: Head Start considers parent involvement an important part of the program, and parents are considered partners. Head Start services include parent involvement events and opportunities, child development, health, nutrition, mental health, social services and transportation (provided according to route and design of program). Head Start children are provided with learning activities in small and large group settings, as well as one-on-one. Children will learn skills that include reading, language, thinking, physical and coordination skills, social skills, good health habits and positive self-esteem. Head Start works collaboratively with public school districts to identify and provide services to children with disabilities. Head Start works with community programs that will assist parents in accessing GED classes, literacy programs and ESL classes. Head Start has a variety of resources for assisting parents in their parenting role. Each family has an assigned resource worker who can assist the family with resources to meet self identified needs.

    Eligibility: Accepting infants to age 3 and pregnant mothers. Must meet Federal income guidelines. Program is free of charge for the Home Base option. Center Base option does require payment that may be a self-payment or child care subsidies. Health records must meet guidelines. Center Operations: Early Head Start Centers operate Monday through Friday at centers that provide early morning child care and child care after the Head Start session. Hours may be as early as 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Home Base Services: Early Head Start services are provided in the home each week and socialization opportunities are held on a regular basis for the home based to network and participate in family events. Many centers are wheel chair accessible. A wheel chair accessible bus is available. Some staff can provide Spanish interpretation.

    Application Procedure: Applications may be mailed out, or picked up at the Administrative Center. The application must be filled out completely and returned with proof of income. Eligible families are enrolled, or placed on a waiting list for future openings.

    Services Provided:                                                   

    *Adult education focusing on GED/HSED preparation.                                               

    *Early childhood education (age appropriate learning opportunities for children)           
    *Parenting Education (providing parents information on various topics) A wide variety of support services are also available to participating families. Some of these services are transportation, breakfast, advocacy, field trips, support groups, health screening etc.

    Eligibility Requirements:

    *Parent and child attend together and child must be under age 8.                               *Parents must be in need of a high school diploma or GED/HSED.                            *Parent must be at least 18 years old.                                                                         

    *Must live within the School District of Beloit boundaries.

    Services Provided: The Individual and Family Counseling Program provides affordable individual, couple, and family counseling with the goal to help people learn skills that will enable them to effectively deal with problems and become self-sufficient. The Child and Family Support  Programming provides pregnancy counseling for crisis pregnancy that includes case management to assist parents in developing options and making choices that are best for them. The Family Support Program provides information and help in accessing service programs, community resources, and limited funding to purchase needed services or goods that are not available through other sources for families who have children with developmental disabilities. The Supported Parenting Program provides information and assistance to parents who have a developmental disability in the areas of nutrition, safety, discipline, budgeting, self esteem, age appropriate play and expectations and stress.

    Services Provided:  Family Net Rock Parenting Programs provide in-home parenting classes, Parents and Teens Together and Positive Parenting for parents with children ages birth to 10. The Janesville Clinic is a licensed mental health clinic that provides outpatient mental health, substance abuse services and group services to individuals who have social, emotional, relationship, psychological and/or drug and alcohol problems. A sliding fee scale is available for those with low or extremely low incomes and no health insurance. The Runaway and Youth Services Program (Rays) provides short to moderate term teen and family counseling, street outreach and educational groups in the schools, 24/7 crisis intervention, and emergency foster home placement to youth ages 11-17 who are at risk of running away from home and are needing services.

               Services Provided:  Serves children with severe emotional disturbances and their families. Through a strengths-based family team centered approach.   We attempt to strengthen families and avoid a more restrictive level of care.

    Services Provided:  COUNSELING: Individual, marriage, family and group therapy, divorce counseling, co-dependency counseling, child centered problems, psychiatric and psychological consultation, testing and evaluations. Sexual Assault Recovery Program provides medical and legal advocacy for child and adult victims of sexual assault; short term crisis supportive counseling therapy for sexually abused children and their families.  EDUCATION: Family life education scheduled on parenting, stress, bereavement, etc.
